Assignment #4

     The artist that I chose is Rashaad Newsome  because being a dancer myself I can see where he is coming from when he blends the form of voguing with art. The process that he uses is he transforms the dancers movements into line drawings behind the dancers while they are dancing. I think the information that Newsome is trying to translate through this process is how you can incorporate dance movements with drawing. And how they can come together to make one art piece. I think the final outcome is very much interesting to me because whenever any type of dancing is involved I want to know more about it and I want to know what it stands for and the reason why the choreographer did the movements in that way. And what Rashaad Newsome did here is remarkable to me. The dance movements go incredibly well together with the line drawings being assembled in that background and you can see how they come together. It's very different and unique, something you don't see on a daily basis.
